Accessibility Statement

GSD Accountants wants everyone to be able to use this site, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text. Our clients run businesses; nobody should have to fight a website to find out what bookkeeping costs.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Every page template on this site is checked against that standard, and we re-check whenever we make significant changes.

Specifically, that means:

• Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background (3:1 for large text, borders, and focus indicators)
• Every link, button, form field, tab, and accordion is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator
• A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page
• Headings follow a logical order, and every form field has a real label
• Content stays usable at 200% zoom, and pinch-zoom is never blocked on mobile
• Animation is disabled automatically when your device requests reduced motion

Third-party content

Two things on this site are built by outside vendors, and we use their standard accessible configurations:

• Calendly powers the booking widget on the diagnostic page. If it gives you trouble, email us and we will send available times directly and book the call for you.
• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used sitewide. If the fonts fail to load, the site falls back to your system font and stays fully readable.

We do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Overlays do not make a site conform to WCAG, and we would rather fix the site itself.

What we know is imperfect

Our free spreadsheet downloads (charts of accounts, calculators, trackers) are Excel and CSV files. Spreadsheets are difficult to make fully screen-reader friendly, and we have not audited them to the same standard as this website. If you want the information in one of those files in a different format, ask and we will produce it.

If any part of this site is hard for you to use, email contact@gsdaccountants.com and tell us which page you were on and what went wrong. Put “accessibility” in the subject line so it reaches the owner directly rather than the sales inbox.

We read every one of these messages and respond within a few business days. If something is blocking you from getting information you need, say so and we will get it to you another way while we fix the page.

Ongoing

We re-run an automated accessibility scan and a manual keyboard test after any change to a page template or the site’s styles, and we update the review date at the top of this page each time.
